Did you know slavery still exists? In the kiln factories of Pakistan, children as young as 5 are forced to work alongside their parents from sunrise to sunset. As a family, they will make between 500-700 bricks each day. The bricks are made of mud and clay and all the work is done by hand.
The children are illiterate, poverty striken, have little to eat, and no medical care. During the rainy season, the kilns are shut down and families are forced to take loans from their kiln owner or sell their daughters in order to buy food to feed their family.
However, the Lord gave Dr. Hazel a vision to bring change, and with the help of Pastor Annie Davis, Victory Children's Homes was able to start Hazel's Place, a school for children. Here, there are given an education, food, love, fun, and most importantly, are brought into relationship with Jesus, the true life-changer.
This ministry is bringing hope to a hopeless situation and giving the children the tools they need to break free of slavery and become all they can be for Jesus. We know their smiles put a smile on Jesus' face too.
