November 2015 - God's People Get The Leaders They Deserve

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2Chron 7:14)

In this passage of scripture, God places the healing of a nation squarely on the shoulders of His people. If we do our part God will do His part by healing the land.

One way God blesses a Nation or a people is to restore good, godly leadership.
One way God judges a Nation or a people is to remove all good, godly leadership.

 Isa 3:1-12 The Lord removes all good leaders from;

  • The Church
  • The Political system
  • Business and the economy
  • Military and all the armed forces
  • The Judicial system
  • The educational institutions

I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them. v4
Those who lead you cause you to err, and destroy the way of your paths. v12

For Jerusalem stumbled, and Judah is fallen, because their doings and sayings are against the Lord, to provoke the eyes of His glory. The look on their countenance witnesses against them, and they declare their sin as Sodom; they do not hide it. Woe to their soul! For they have brought evil upon themselves. v8-9

The real reason for all their problems is clearly stated in V8.Their stubborn, unrestrained and blatant, arrogant violation of God’s principles. Their behavior is a result of rebellion and rejection of the Word of God.

For the Lord brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel, for he had encouraged moral decline in Judah and had been continually unfaithful to the Lord. (2Chronicles 28:19)

The key leader encouraged moral decline and it brought total collapse of the nation, politically, financially, militarily and economically.

We are certainly living in the last of the last days, the scriptures tell us it will be like the days of Noah and the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. Just in the last few years we have seen the legalization of homosexuality, easy divorce, gay marriage, abortion on demand, legal prostitution and drugs, the list goes on and on.  The 10 commandments, the Bible and prayer in the name of Jesus have been removed from the courts of law and from the public school systems of our nation. Violence and corruption have increased and we have judicial systems without any real absolutes.

If the foundation be destroyed what can the righteous do. (Proverbs 11:3)

It’s a gradual chipping away at the moral biblical foundation of a nation. Pass a little law here and another there. He (Anti-Christ) shall speak pompous words against the Most High, shall persecute the saints of the Most High, and shall intend to change the times and law. (Daniel 7:25)

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. (Proverbs 14:34)
Exalt means to promote, prosper and protect. Reproach means to disgrace, degrade and bring to naught.

Jesus said to the lovers of money: You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God. (Luke 16:14-15)

The love of money causes people to be motivated by fear and greed. Then their basis for choosing leadership is wrong, instead of what is best for the country, it becomes what is best for me. The trouble with democracy is that the multitudes are usually wrong according to this scripture. The majority can be wrong and if there are no moral absolutes and people are left to set their own laws, it’s not too long before they have set them so low that no one can break them.

If Moses had listened to the multitude he would have taken the Jews back to Egypt instead of leading them through the wilderness into the promise land. The job of a leader is not to take the people where they necessarily want to go but where they need to go. Parents don’t take their children where they want to go all the time; they take them and send them to where they need to go. The way God blesses a nation is to raise up and advance godly leadership.
Read 1Sam 12: 6-12

Then Samuel said to the people, “It is the Lord who raised up Moses and Aaron. v6
When Jacob had gone into Egypt and your fathers cried out to the Lord, then the Lord sent Moses and Aaron who brought your fathers out of Egypt and made them dwell in this place. v8 And when they forgot the Lord their God, He sold them into the hand of Sisera, commander of the army of Hazor. v9

Godly countries still go through these cycles of repenting and crying out to God in times of trouble and He comes on the scene to protect, prosper and promote them. Then, after they have lived in prosperity for a while a new generation comes on the scene and if the parents did not transfer their faith and values to their children, they begin to think they are prosperous, free, and superior, because they have better schools and universities. Then pride and arrogance begins to take over and they make new laws based on what feels right according to the world, flesh and reasoning of a carnal mind. They forget God and now He is nowhere in the picture and the next thing you know disaster has struck and many people don’t have a clue as to why. Some even begin to blame God.

Democracy will only work effectively where Christian values are widely embraced otherwise people will vote for all the wrong leaders for the wrong reasons and babes and children are voted into power.

America needs another great awakening!
It’s time to seek the Lord until He rains righteousness upon the Land. (Hosea 10:12)Thank God for the USA and Canada, two great nations that were both founded by leaders who loved the God of the Bible. The founding fathers of Canada read Psalm 72:8 He (Jesus) shall have dominion from sea to sea.  Then they called it the ‘Dominion of Canada’

Three of the top universities in the USA, Yale, Harvard and Princeton were all established to train ministers of the gospel. The founding fathers knew that if the nation were to prosper the gospel of Christ must be preached, believed and lived.

Yours for the Restoration of godly Leadership and the Healing of our Nations.
