Before Noah ran out of provisions, “God remembered Noah.” (Gen 8:1) When Noah had been in the Ark long enough to accomplish the purposes of God, the Lord sent a wind of fresh anointing. The waters receded, the door of confinement was opened, and Noah and his family stepped out into a whole new season of blessing and fruitfulness.
The God who remembered Noah will remember us too! We have also been in a time of confinement, but God is about to breathe new life into us again! “God blessed Noah and said, ‘Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.’” (Gen 9:1) Breakdown may be in your past, but breakthrough and blessing are in your future!
This Covid19 Pandemic has been a season of lack and attack against everything most people count as valuable: family, church, health, friends, finances, faith, and freedoms. But remember, “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” (1 Cor 10:13)
God is a God of Purpose
“And we know that all things work together for the good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” (Rom 8:28) No matter what you are going through, God can take your misery and turn it into ministry. He can take your sorrow and turn it into celebration!
The Bible is full of divine mentors, be they the good, the bad, or even the ugly! From their successes, we can learn what to do. And from their failures we can learn what not to do! “Be followers of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” (Heb 6:12)
Isaac is one of those divine mentors who had faith and patience. (Gen 26:1-3) In a time of famine Isaac could have fled. But instead, he stayed, he dug, he fought, he sowed, and he received a 100-fold miracle. It all happened within a space of twelve months. God said, “Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you, for to you and your descendants I will give these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father.” He was tempted to flee, but he stayed because he knew and believed what God had said more than what he could see with his physical eyes!
Someone once said, “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us”. Keeping the right heart attitude will keep you moving in the right direction. Don’t get stuck in a stage that was just meant to be part of the journey. Be strong! Don’t quit! Your season of freedom and blessing is on its way!
